Itinerary

Your Kerala journey begins as you arrive in Kochi, where a driver will greet you and take you on a scenic drive to Munnar, a serene hill station nestled in the Western Ghats. As you make your way up the winding roads, you’ll pass beautiful views of valleys, tea gardens, and waterfalls like Cheeyappara and Valara. You can make brief stops for photos or just to soak in the fresh air. By afternoon or early evening, you’ll reach Munnar and check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure. You might want to explore the quiet town, visit the local market, or simply enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by misty hills and cool mountain air. Overnight stay in Munnar.

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll begin a full day of sightseeing around Munnar. Your first stop is Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and known for its stunning green hills and walking trails. Afterwards, you’ll head to the Tea Museum, where you can learn about Munnar’s deep connection to tea cultivation and even sample some local blends. In the afternoon, you'll visit Mattupetty Dam, a great spot for a short walk or photo session by the water. Just nearby is Echo Point, where your voice bounces back across the lake. Then you’ll continue to Kundala Lake, where you can enjoy pedal boating surrounded by mountain views. If time allows, you can go all the way to Top Station, offering panoramic views over the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu. After a full day of fresh air and sightseeing, you'll return to your hotel in the evening. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Today, you’ll check out from your Munnar hotel and begin your journey down to the lowlands, heading toward Alleppey (or Kumarakom), famous for its enchanting backwaters. After a 4-5 hour drive, you’ll reach the backwater region where a traditional houseboat awaits you. By noon, you’ll board your houseboat and begin a slow cruise through the winding canals, past swaying coconut palms, lush paddy fields, and tiny villages. Onboard, a local chef will prepare authentic Kerala meals, and you’ll have plenty of time to relax and simply watch daily life unfold along the riverbanks. As the sun sets, the houseboat anchors at a peaceful spot. Dinner is served on board, and the calm of the water ensures a good night's rest. Overnight stay on the houseboat in Alleppey.

Wake up to the sounds of birds and gently rippling water. After breakfast on the houseboat, you’ll disembark and begin your drive back to Kochi. If your flight or train is scheduled for later in the day, you can use the time to explore Fort Kochi, with its charming colonial architecture, Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis Church, and the Jew Town area with antique shops and spice markets. Alternatively, if you're in the mood for shopping, Lulu Mall offers a modern experience. Eventually, you'll be dropped at Kochi airport or railway station, marking the end of your memorable 4-day trip through Kerala.
